We started by building applications for other firms — the software behind other companies' products and operations. Every engagement raised the bar: tighter requirements, larger systems, less room for failure. Before long we weren't building one kind of software, we were building all of it — for businesses where the system going down meant the business going down.
Then how clients used us changed. We stopped being handed a finished spec to execute — and started being invited into the first meeting, while the problem was still a whiteboard and a hard question.

Answering those questions became the work. It pulled us into years of enterprise legacy modernization and systems integration — replacing aging, business-critical software without stopping the business running on it, and wiring together the disconnected tools underneath. That's the deep end of custom software, and it's where we've spent most of the last decade.
